Annual Report on Situation of Maintenance & Control of equipment and Information Network System

 

Thailand received oil spill response equipment and information network system under the OSPAR project in 1994. The official delivery ceremony took place on 28 March 1994 with the Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications as Chairman. After the delivery, the Harbour Department conducted training on the use of oil spill response equipment at the Coastal Dredging and Maintenance Centre II in Songkhla during 29-30 March 1994, with 52 participants and also training on information network system at the Marine Environment Section, Harbour Department, on September 1994.

 

In 1995 the Harbour department carried out activities related to the OSPAR project as follows:-

 

1. Construction of a 200 square meters storage house for oil spill response equipment at the Coastal Dredging and Maintenance Centre II in Songkhla was completed in April 1996 at the cost of 640,000 baht. The equipment was moved from the temporary storage to this new ones.

 

2. Three technicians of the Coastal Dredging and Maintenance Centre were assigned to maintain the equipment. All the engines bafferies that expired were replaced in 1995.

 

3. Training and exercise were conducted three times, using the equipment received under the OSPAR project i.e.
